2012: Where Did You Come From?

I cannot believe that 2011 has come and gone. I was reading a blog today and believe me it has made me motivated to blog again.

As you can tell from last year I stopped documenting my weight loss but, didn't really succeed.

I didn't make any New Years plans for this year. I think I will just do it day by day.

I am going to do a few things that are going to make me happy this year. I've been sitting at home quite frequently and need to explore more outdoors. I want to enjoy life as it happens. This may sound selfish to some but, the invite is out there for those who want to join in.

Friendships are few in my life and I plan on expanding that this year.

I can't promise a blog everyday but, will try monthly to let you know the positive things that have happened. We have way too many negative things that tend to occur and want only positive vibes this year!!!

Until Next Time,

Here is the results of this week and an upto date weight loss percentage.

Week 5: A New Beginning Weigh In

Where did the week go? This week was partially slow and fast, didn't know the weekend was upon us until I woke up this morning.

Jumped on the scales and tried to come up with some decision as to what I weighed. Crazy scales keep changing numbers everytime I stood on it. So after 10 different tries I have come to the conclusion of the following information.

Starting weight: 276 lbs. BMI: 40

Week 5: February 5, 2011 Weight: 267 BMI: 38 Weekly Weight Loss Percentage: 0.74%

Total Weight Loss Percentage: 3.26% Weight Loss This Week: 2 lbs

Total Weight Loss To Date: 9 lbs

After being stuck at the same weight and trusting the God will get me over this first hump it's happening again. I lost two more pounds.

Don't have much this week to write about. I will keep pushing myself along and knowing that slow and steady is probably the best way of doing this.

Until Next Time,

Week 4: A New Beginning Weigh In

First month down, and 11 to go. I didn't think my weight loss would be stagnant so early. This lifestyle change is going to be a real struggle.

I for one after working a full day at work just can't seem to want to get up and shake what your mama gave ya, if you know what I mean? I suppose when winter is one of the times I really don't like going outside to play and have fun due to being cold it can create some problems. I don't wish to buy a membership to go and use their tools of the trade. I suppose if I don't want to go crazy and not like my results each week I will have to try and do something, or be content with my stagnant weight loss each week.

Anyhow, here again is a carbon copy of last week.

Starting weight: 276 lbs. BMI: 40

Week 4: January 22, 2011 Weight: 269 BMI: 38 Weekly Weight Loss Percentage: 0%

Total Weight Loss Percentage: 2.54% Weight Loss This Week: 0 lbs

Total Weight Loss To Date: 7 lbs

Constantly being faithful and knowing God is going to get me through this. Thanks for taking the time to read and giving me support.

Until Next Week,

Week 3: A New Beginning Weigh In

Here we go again, another weigh in. This week was a tough one for me. I didn't do much in the line of an form of exercise. Heck, I could even say if it wasn't for doing the laundry last Sunday I wouldn't have done any. Also, the food choices are not very healthy either. I'm sure those soup and chili in a can pack lots of useless fat.
We have a grocery run today and hopefully get some fruits and vegetables back in the apartment.
So I'm sure your excited to hear just what is my weight for this week. Fine here it goes as promised.

Starting weight: 276 lbs. BMI: 40

Week 3: January 22, 2011 Weight: 269 BMI: 38 Weekly Weight Loss Percentage: 0%

Total Weight Loss Percentage: 2.54% Weight Loss This Week: 0 lbs

Total Weight Loss To Date: 7 lbs.

Not too impressive but, I suppose I will have weeks like this one. Maintainance is very important as weight loss. I have to keep that chin up and keep pressing forward toward my set goal.

I'm off this morning to Men's Breakfast with a great group of men from the church. I hope and pray that this week contains a much better result then last week.

Well there you have it for this week, hope all goes well with Week 4.

Until Next Time,

Week 2: A New Beginning Weigh In

Just got back from a holiday away from Belleville so please forgive me for not posting this update until now.

I decided to weigh in one day early this week, as I was going away and didn't want to weigh in after my weekend away. If you know what I mean? The temptations of going out for meals is so crazy, but I think I did pretty good.

Starting weight: 276 lbs. BMI: 40

Week 2: January 14, 2011 Weight: 269 BMI: 38 Weekly Weight Loss Percentage: 1.01%

Total Weight Loss Percentage: 2.54% Weight Loss This Week: 3 lbs

Total Weight Loss To Date: 7 lbs.

Not too bad...still on track of my weight loss.

I found a little bit of info over the internet this past week hoping to try a few of these hints and see how it goes for me.

Eat and drink the following with reckless abandon:

Spinach
Broccoli
Green, Red, or Yellow Pepper
Cucumber
Apples
Asparagus
Cauliflower
Green Beans
Kale
Celery
Pretty much any green leafy vegetable with the exception of iceberg lettuce
Water

Eat 2 – 4 servings of the following throughout the day:

Carrots
Bananas
Berries
Peaches
Plums
Oranges
Pretty much any fresh fruit you like

Eat one 4 – 6 ounce lean serving of the following with each meal.

Preparation should be grilled, steamed, baked, or stir fried – no breaded and fried foods!:

Turkey breast
Chicken breast
Steak
Pork
Fish
Also consider eggs (2 or 3)

Eat one serving of the following with each snack.

Truth be told, I recommend you avoid dairy during your weight loss quest, but if you feel you need it, eat it with your snacks:

Almonds
Walnuts
Cashews
Natural peanut butter (no sugar, no salt added)
Yogurt
Low-fat cottage cheese
Low-fat milk
Eat these only with your meal that follows your fitness training and only in limited portion:
Oatmeal
Brown rice
Legumes
Potatoes
Whole wheat bread
Whole wheat pasta
Other whole grain food items

Use the following in extremely limited portions or not at all:

Salad dressing
Butter
Cheese
Other condiments
Foods and Drinks you MUST stay away from to lose weight
Soda (tons of sugar and lots of empty calories)
Alcohol (empty calories and usually leads to bad food choices when drinking)
Sugar
Fast Food
Creamy salad dressings (Ranch, 1000 Island, etc.)

Well there you have it for this week, hope all goes well with Week 3 for myself.

Prayer and Persistance will always be first in my quest for my weight loss.

Week 1: A New Beginning 2011 Weigh In

Wow, Week 1 has arrived already!!

As promised I have eatten properly, with sugar cookies and date squares staring at me constantly at work.
It hasn't been too hard just need to have more of a variety of foods when one works and packs a lunch. Had a variety of foods to start off the first week on the diet. Turkey stew, sandwiches, carrots, and nuts. I'm really enjoying the nuts and carrots though throughout the daytime while working.
I have noticed though when you stack on carrots and nuts throughout the day periodically you start to feel hungrier. That's when I drink some water in place of food and it tends to trick the stomach I guess you could say.

Well here are the results...

Starting weight: 276 lbs. BMI: 40

Week 1: January 8, 2011 Weight: 272 BMI: 40 Weekly Weight Loss Percentage: 1.45%

I was really worried with just focusing on eating habits the first week and doing the stairs going down only one time last week.
One thing that came to me while doing the laundry today. I went downstairs to throw in the laundry and figured I should take the stairs up and see how I do? Afterall, going down was a breeze how hard can going up be? I got to the 4th floor and was puffing like crazy. What was I thinking taking the stairs but, I continued and made it to the 9th floor!
I got thinking that this stair and weight loss thing has a lot to do with perseverance.

It is hard to be honest and focused on God and what we are to be like as Christians on a day to day basis. It can be hard to climb to the top of a mountain but, easy to slip and fall to the bottom. One needs to try hard to please God and himself, so the approval into heaven is easily judged, then to let Satan have his victory with a human life that God has blessed in the first place.

365 Days Of Weight Loss!!!! A New Beginning 2011!!

A new year is upon us now!!!! Wow 2011!!! It really is true the older you get the faster the time flies by. Well as my title states, I official start not a New Years Resolution but a life changing event for nothing but the good.

Here is my plan.....
I would like to try to at least lose 100 lbs.

It states that an ideal weight for a man at the height of 5' 9" should weigh 156 lbs. With a body mass index of 22.

Underweight: Losing too much weight can be unhealthy as well.

Healthy: Not much risk of obesity-related health problems, but stay on top of your healthy habits.

Overweight: Losing some weight can still improve your overall health and risk factors.

Obese: Now's the time to take care of it before problems develop and it's too late.

Morbidly Obese: You are at very high risk for heart and blood pressure problems, and diabetes.
These are my 7 tips to succeeding in my weight loss for the year:

1. Give yourself some time, many people think they can lose 100 pounds in 3 months or less. That is an improbable goal. It will take over 6 months to lose 100 lbs. This is a process with there will be ups and downs and you need to have patience.
2. Make a firm commitment, because it takes a while to lose 100 pounds, you need to make a firm commitment to yourself that you will not stop in the middle of the process until you've reached your weight loss goal. Just keep reminding yourself that you can do it. It all depends on your will power.

3. Get a more active lifestyle, every little thing you can do to become more active will help you to burn more calories and lose more fat. If you start climbing stairs instead of taking elevators, or decide to walk on a daily basis, you'll burn more and more fat gradually. These little things add up to a lot of pounds.

4. Start exercising, a little exercise can go along way to getting you slimmer and healthier. You don't need to go overboard: taking a 40-60 minute walk 3-4 times a week will get you much closer to your 100 pound weight loss goal. Add to that some strength exercises you can do at home with 2-3 pounds dumbbells, and you will gradually lose more and more pounds. You will also start to feel healthier.

5. Stop doing the things which make you overeat. Each of us has our own eating environment: some eat in front of the TV, others in a sports bar or restaurant. Cut down on whatever situation or hobby which gets you to overeat.

6. Become busier, having too much free time leads to overeating. One way to help yourself lose 100 pounds as fast as possible is to reduce the amount of free time you have. Join a voluntary organization, pick up an old hobby, get some books from the library, whatever you like. Just keep busy.

7. Eat healthy, if you want to lose 100 pounds, you need to cut down on the useless calories that you eat. Cut down fried food, fast food, alcohol, white carbs, and processed sugar. Eat more vegetables, fruits, healthy fats like olive oils, and lean protein like chicken breast or turkey. You may also want to start shifting your calories. Just by doing that you might accelerate your weight loss and achieve your 100 lbs weight loss mark faster.
Well I suppose I should give you the stats for my start of the 100 lb weight loss.
You have to own up to what you have become, and hold yourself accountable for what you say; so here it goes.
I, Tim Gould is on the start of an exciting weight loss journey in the event to lose 100 lbs. I hope that those who view this blog can guide me and hold me accountable for any actions positive or negative in the events of trying to lose my weight.
My official weight starting January 1, 2011 is: 276 lbs with a body mass index of 40.

I know it states above that the ideal weight is 156 lbs for someone my height but that is a long term goal. My view is at least try to get down to 176 lbs.

I will post weekly my updates on this blog as to how I am doing and try to assist others that maybe struggling with the same issue as I am by, giving tips on what I did to help out with my weight loss.
Please journey with me and show your support with tips and food recipes, that may help on my day to day weight loss. With God on my side I know he will get me through this life changing task.

The End Of Holidays Part 1

Hey Gang,

Nice week to have off. Weather was perfect. Warm, humid some days, and a couple swims in the pool. Not to mention sharing it with my family and friends.

I received my winnings through Lotto Race this past Friday. Praise God yet again for his blessings!!!
Looking to have Holidays Part 2 in December around Christmas time. Not sure if it will work out but all I can do is ask. This will be a visit to Niagra Falls to see the lights and stay at Billie-Jo and Walter's to share the festive time with the family.

Loving Gods provisions as he is always showing his love and promise.

Blessings During My Holidays

Hey Gang,

Holidays are going good!!!

Spent Saturday afternoon and overnight at the trailer with my parents and brother.

They were having a Country weekend with a live band which was Al Scriver Sr and his band. I didn't stay to listen but enjoyed helping my Father sell tickets for the dinner at the hall. He is doing much better. Not liking the fact that he can't drive his van.

Got the chance to visit my cousin Kathy who is down for her two weeks holidays. It is always nice to share fun times and chats with her.

So lets get to the Blessing.....

I come home Sunday evening around dinnertime and go on the computer to see who might have emailed me and get caught up on Facebook. There is a game within Facebook called Lotto Race. Typical lotto type game that you win coins and tickets to enter for a tournament lotto draw. I had spent my tickets for the big draw at 9:00pm. Jumped on the computer after Big Brother was finished to see how I did for the big draw. It ended up that I won the first prize draw all by myself, nine million coins. It ended up that I could spend these coins for Gift Cards. At the end of it all I ended up with $875 worth of gift cards for my favorite places to shop, dine, and be entertained along with gas for the van. How blessed is my evening!!! Thank you God for favor!!

It really opens my eyes to see how desperate and needing I felt when I have one pair of shoes that I can wear and he provides me with $100 to go shop for a couple of pairs at Sport Chek.

I have always put others first in my life and really have an issue with receiving from others. It makes my cry in a good way that others do have a heart of gold as I do!!! I love my family and friends that so opening share there lives and belongings to make each others lives enriched and happy. Blessing to you all!!!

Well, Rozanne and I are headed back to the trailer tomorrow to share the day with my Parents. But first I will spend a couple hours with my friend Mark today. Then we are off to Hamilton to visit Billie-Jo, Walter, Mateo, Marcus, Lucas, Chris, Dawn and Noah!!!

I don't think the surprise thing will happen as Rozanne reminded me that the Wii System we bought was for each other. I just might have something still up my sleeve....LOL That's just the giving me still shining.

Until Next Time,

HOLIDAYS 2010 PART 1

Hey Gang,

Finally time to sit back relax and not think about anything at work. AHHHH!!!!

You probably noticed in my title that I've use Part 1...yes I still have another week of holidays to use up so I'm looking into December to go to Niagara Falls to finally see the holiday lights. Rozanne and I have been trying to go the past 3 years. Hopefully it is a go this year. If not then we will plan something else to do.

So what is up for my holidays this time....Trailer with my family and friends out in Carrying Place for a couple of overnight sleeps. Back home for 3 days then, off to Hamilton to finish off my week for 3 overnight sleeps to visit Billie-Jo and her family as well as Chris and his family. It will be such a good time spending time with all the Family!!!

During my holidays is Rozanne and I, fourth anniversary. Planning something but I will let you know when we get back how things went. Not sure if Rozanne is reading my blogs so I will keep this a secret and keep her wondering what is up????

Still hoping to get to Wonderland this season but, as I'm always asked is it a must??? No, but it is a desire and there's nothing wrong with that.

My Father Is Back Home

Hey Gang,

My Father is back at the trailer today. The doctor has allowed him back home with blood tests periodically through his doctor. They will continue to check his Potassium & Magnesium levels through his blood.

He is home and enjoying a Steak & Baked Potato Dinner with his Daughter and Son-In-Law. Of course his wife also. LOL.

Now that God has given him a second chance to look at his life and just how lucky he is to be alive, I pray he gets to know God even more. I will always be there for him through thick and thin. I know his tranformation of being a Christian will be difficult. But when God is given such an incredible challenge, awesome things always prevail. But of course my constant praying and desires of him knowing God will be a big obstacle. One step at a time is all we can do.

Just Another Lazy Sunday

Hey Gang,

Was up earlier today as I hit the sack last night early. Went and layed down again and didn't wake up until 10:45am. LOL. Crazy how the body works.

I am waiting to see if my Father will be released from hospital today or not. He looks really good however, he is walking unstable for now but will come back slowly. Not sure of how his update is until my Mother or Sister call me to give me the update.

Don't think we are going out today as Rozanne is sleeping still. She was up earlier also and went to lay down. Sometimes you just need days like today to sit back, enjoy a book or movie. Better yet just focus on God and let him know how much you love him.

Hope you enjoy this beautiful perfect summer day!!!

Scary Moments Bring Praise To God!!

Hey Gang,

What a week this has been for my family and I. My father ended up having a 45 minute seizure early Thursday morning about 5:00am. Through waiting with my Mother and Cheryl (a friend of the family) we found out that my Father of 72 out of the blue couldn't just have a seizure without some drastic conclusion. At first they stated there has to be some bleeding on the brain but were not sure until a CT Scan was completed.

At first when I saw him I thought the worst. It was like my Father of 72 was instantly a dad of 102. His speach was very shallow and broken up, his eyes were glossy, and breathing very shallow.

I knew my sister would be praying as God has always been on her heart. As I spend a little time in prayer myself. Knowing God would assist this man I can Dad but he calls Son. I was more praying for God to allow my Dad to see how a negative situation with Gods hands place upon the situation can be glorified in God's name.

It ended up that my Fathers seizure was due to a chemical loss of Magnesium and Thyroid imbalance also with Pneumonia.

Magnesium is a mineral important for muscle contractions, a healthy nervous system, immune system and strong bones. It is involved in hundreds of enzyme reactions in the body.
Magnesium deficiency in the body can cause the following: loss of appetite; disorientation; confusion; psychotic behavior; depression; tremors; convulsions; numbness, tingling, and cramps in the muscles; vasodilation, or widening of the blood vessels; coronary spasms; abnormal heart rhythms; seizures; and irritability of the nervous system.

Reading the above information definately confirms to me that is what has happened. He lost all but 0.1% of his magnesium and several of the above results were present.

My Father was transferred from Trenton Memorial Hospital to Belleville General Hospital on the same day and they started an IV drip of Magnesium and Pottasium.

I stopped by after work on Friday night and prior to my visit was informed that my Father was being still moody and not listening to anyone. I was expecting such when I stopped in to see him. However, he was the Dad I always knew. Very content and he looked his old self. We had a great visit and I explained to him how important it is to relax and let the drip work in his favour. You cannot heal in just 24 hours it may take a few days to replace what you lost within your body.

I think God really does know what he is doing for a small part of my prayer was for my Father to accept God as his saviour. I think after a little while I will share with him my thoughts on why things happen to Good people that seem so negative.

In conclusion I pondered in my prayer to God. Please if he doesn't have the chance to live, and it is his time to leave us. Show him yourself, so he can totally accept you as his Lord and Saviour. As I would like to give the greatest gift of life to my Father, his Salvation!

Let The Weekend Begin

Hey Gang,

It finally is here and I have an opportunity to sit down and Blog after my busy long week of working. Your life is pretty busy when you put in 90 Hours for two weeks. I know this is to be looked more at a blessing from God to have such an awesome job!! Thanks God!!!

Well lets recap my week.....

Monday & Wednesday (Blah!!) You can pretty much read it with my Monday blog...one in the same day for both days. However, the evening was good to see one of my best friends, Adam and assist with him moving into his new apartment. The five flights of stairs to climb up...not so nice. LOL Good to see Lindsay and Amy Beth also...Thanks for the help ladies!

Tuesday was good busy trying to get things cleared up and ready for the hectic Thursday and Friday to come.

Thursday was another clearing up day preparing to wrap things up for the completion of the work week.

Friday was a mixed bag....slow, busy, slow, busy....you get the picture. Didn't get all my blister packing done but that can be completed on Monday.

Leaving this work week on a good note....Yahoo.....New Technician starts this Monday!!! We can finally have another person using the computer. But now the task of trying to find a computer for her to use. LOL I guess the Pharmacists will have to just learn to counsel and check the prescriptions.

Looking forward to this weekend. Not quite sure what we are going to do. Definately get some groceries in the apartment. Maybe go get our anniversary gift also. Just nice to sit down, kick up your feet and relax finally enjoying a HOT cup of coffee for the first time this week. New Twilight Eclipse movie looks enticing, just might have to have a date night with my beautiful, loving wife.

Turning A Negative Into A Positive

Hey Gang,

Well today was a little stressful. Let's just say I really dislike it when an individual doesn't accepts their own errors, and points it back into your own face. I had to really focus on God during my lunch time as I was so angry at the negative outcome of the situation in question. One scripture that came to mind was:

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”- Isaiah 41:10

It is so amazing that God strengthen and helps us without even expecting anything back. Most would just fight back and put that individual in their place. But somehow I was thinking at the time...be the bigger person. Also, knowing that there is so much more in life that could be worst.

A negative situation always has a positive outcome. I ended up working late tonight and has a good talk with my new Managers and they really praised my good work. Most times it can be a tough thing to go to work knowing that stress is just around the corner. But know I let God stand right there with me. Overlooking my day, and allowing life as we know it continue for the glory of God!!!

Until next time.
